Accounting Manager

Commando is seeking a motivated, skilled individual to join our finance team as Accounting Manager! The Accounting Manager is responsible for participation in the periodic financial close, management of transactional accounting (A/P, A/R) and other accounting related projects as needed by the organization. While it is preferred to find a local Vermont candidate, we are open to a remote candidate within the Northeast region. 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Assist in all aspects of the monthly financial close
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and analysis for assigned accounts
  • Management of transactional accounting coordinators:
    • A/R responsibilities including: Cash Application, credits, chargebacks, reconciliations
    • A/P responsibilities including: Vouchering, reconciliations, vendor disputes
    • Work cross-functionally to resolve Customer & Vendor related issues, implementing best practices where possible
  • Monitor and manage finance email and correspondence 
  • Assist in the timely and accurate reporting of all US and International applicable tax filings
  • Additional research, reporting, and support to Controller as needed

 

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • Degree in finance or accounting preferred.
  • 3- 5 years of equivalent experience preferred
  • Prior people management experience a plus
  • Proficient in accounting principles, understand finance concepts and cash management
  • Proficiency with ERPs, GL software, Excel. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Commitment to work with confidential material and act with discretion
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player with minimal oversight
