Business Applications Manager

Commando is seeking a Business Applications Manager to lead the support and continuous improvement of business applications, systems, and processes. This position is responsible for delivering superior business systems support, programming enhancements, and process improvement to our growing organization. Responsibilities include driving systems integration, user functionality, managing issues, investigating, tracking, and resolving problems, training, and project management in unison with providing excellent customer service.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Design, program, test, and document ERP modifications that meet strategic business requirements
  • Design, program, test, and document systems integrations between ERP, eCommerce website, demand planning system, accounting system, etc.
  • Support for all business systems requests with a focus on best practices, user training, and system configuration before investigating whether any customization or coding is necessary
  • Provide end-user support for all business systems including ERP system, reporting, and business intelligence tools
  • Continuous process improvement
  • Report writing and development
  • System testing
  • Work with employees across the business to lead issue troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing solutions
  • Identify, propose and implement improvements in systems, reports, and processes across the organization 
  • Plan, design, develop, and document business requirements for new system functionality, including business requirements, RFP’s, functional specifications, technical specifications, and user documentation
  • Provide orientation and best practices training to end-users for all systems. Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Manage vendors to resolve application problems
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth system testing and other post-implementation support
  • Identify, recommend and prepare IT policies and procedures.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • 5 or more years related work experience or degree in a related field such as business administration, computer science, or management information systems 
  • Experience with implementation and support of ERP systems, BlueCherry experience preferred
  • Strong technical aptitude such as experience with programming languages, SQL, SSRS, relational databases, and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in implementation and integration of software and business systems
  • Apparel experience is preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot and think analytically and be a methodical problem solver
  • Ability to model data, information flows, and business processes
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to create project plans and manage timelines
  • Experience in the operation, analysis, and troubleshooting of business software and processes
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
  • Team player with excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
