Our Research + Development team is looking for a Pattern Maker to help create and revise patterns, pattern grading and conduct fittings helping to ensure garment drawing concepts translate to final garments according to the designer’s vision. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Draft first patterns from drawings and/or altering existing patterns directly in CAD system.
  • Grades all patterns by using current grade rules.
  • Evaluates, creates and implements standard grading rules to insure consistency in fit.
  • Performs samples inspections for measurement, construction, and compliance.
  • Communicates assembly details of new products to sample making room personnel.
  • Provides production team with approved and production-ready patterns and files. This includes CAD files, file conversions, and oaktag patterns.
  • Understands and considers relationships between pattern/material usage/yields during pattern creation as it relates to margins.
  • Conducts fittings.
  • Contribute to finding new solutions to improve construction of products for ease of production and to improve product margin.
  • This position reports to the Director of Research & Development.

Knowledge & skill requirements:

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in related field
  • Minimum of 5 years related pattern making experience in garment industry. Activewear, intimates, swim markets (tech knit fabrics) a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of pattern making, grading. Fittings a plus.
  • CAD/CAM software experience a must. Lectra Modaris and Diamino a plus.
  • Experience using MS Office programs, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization..
  • Strong team player with the ability to handle multiple projects under multiple deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
