I own so many Commando items, but it's been very tricky finding a skirt from the brand that is flattering. I'm not into the skin tight look, so I gave this one a try. I'm 5'4 and it looked ridiculously long, almost ankle length. It does not have a raw edge, but rather the hem is bonded with heat (I'm pretty sure, or some kind of adhesive) so hemming would be expensive. Plus, the pleats, which give it a beautiful drape, would have added to the difficulty in getting this skirt the length I wanted. Maybe Commando can offer skirts like this in petite lengths for short gals who want a true midi skirt? The faux leather fabric is lovely -- it is a luxury fabric that truly looks like leather. And it's comfortable! But for a skirt that is almost $300, the belt was a letdown. First of all, a plastic buckle? For $300?? Unacceptable. Secondly, it has maybe 3 grommets so it's not as forgiving/size-inclusive as the skirt it accompanies. I do think this is a stunning design all things considered, but for the price, it needed to be perfect, and it was not.
