Twice a year fashion's top designers give us a peek into the future. This September, New York Fashion Week dazzled with visions of Spring/Summer 2019. Crochet, pops of marigold, puffy sleeves, biker shorts and tie-dye were some of the top trends spotted on the runway.
While the runway trends may change one thing remains the same: commando. Our classic raw-cut thong, bikini, and high rise panty have walked more runways than most top models, and with underwear becoming more visible commando’s prominence at NYFW is greater than ever.
This season one of our most exciting partnerships was with Rodarte, who returned to NYFW after showing at Paris Couture week for the past few seasons. Rodarte's exciting return to New York generated a lot of buzz, and we were more than happy to take on designing custom commando styles for their show. From vivid violets to dazzling blues, Rodarte asked for both high and midrise bikinis in all over custom dyed lace.

Another designer favorite to walk the runway was our classic high rise panty. Noon by Noor, Brock Collection and Ulla Johnson runways showed the high-rise as a staple to complete the look. This was no surprise since the high rise has been ruling the runway and red carpet. Stylist and designers look to these commando garments for their flattering and flat lay construction to create a seamless and beautiful presentation.
With crochet making a big comeback for Spring, commando slips were designers' go-to underpinning. Self-Portrait’s gorgeous crochet creations were complemented by our classic tailored slip and half slip. Front row staple and style blogger Emily Men has been rocking this crochet-slip trend as well, and has been spotted in our mini cami slip.
After this NYFW we’re excited to see the trends off the runway for Spring 2019. Stay tuned to our Instagram to see the latest updates from commando on the runways and red-carpet.
