Retail Merchandiser - NYC, New York

Overall Responsibility: Maximize sales by ensuring that product has strong
representation on sales floor and by providing excellent customer service to
employees and customers

Key Areas of Responsibility:

In-store responsibilities:
The merchandiser role is to drive sales at floor level and provide HQ a realistic,
current picture of each store’s product presentation and sales
  • Meet with managers in Intimate Apparel and out of home base 
  • Build and maintain relationships with sales team at store (sales associates and department managers)
  • Get feedback from store team about selling and thoughts on product
  • Check stock levels and identify any gaps  
    • Take note and recap to A.E. through GoSpotCheck
    • Restock inventory as needed
    • Ensure ALL stock is processed and placed
    • Re-merchandise as needed on selling floor
  • Merchandise floor with color stories and work with DM & Visuals to gain fixtures, tables, legs, forms, & signage
  • Reach out to Personal Shoppers and target Out Of Home Base Depts. for additional selling potential 
  • Ensure ALL in-store directives (contests from Buying Office/ Table rotations/ etc.) are being carried out
  • Take pictures of ALL fixtures, tables, etc. and upload on GoSpotCheck per visit
  • Update stockroom bulletin boards with new press and product info sheets
  • Use GoSpotCheck to send store recaps AE with any call outs 
  • Participate in special store events when possible
  • Host Focus Days & Mini Contests to boost associate morale and promote selling
  • Organize stock room
  • Educate sales staff
    • o Provide product knowledge, covering all product features and benefits for all products
    • o Review product line with new staff as needed
    • o Schedule & lead Product Knowledge Seminars
    • o One on One Training with store associates on new merchandise receipts and/or online selections during visits
  • Promote and sell commando products to customers through thorough
  • product knowledge and education of the customer
  • Provide advice, assistance, and follow-up on issues that can improve
  • sales (low inventory, product placement, customer and sales associate
  • feedback)
  • Display a professional and knowledgeable presence in store
  • General Duties:
  • Communicate with commando sales team in a timely manner
    • Weekly reports- for every store visit, a GoSpotCheck mission must be submitted
    • Review selling reports
    • Address low inventory issues
    • Customer feedback
    • Competitive market analysis
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of and commitment to customer service
  • Previous retail experience
  • Maturity and ability to work independently
  • Flexible hours
  • May include occasional travel
  • Must be very driven and passionate about the brand 
  • Strong interpersonal skills & ability to build strong rapport with department teams
