the women behind the brand

March 07, 2019

Commando employs women from diverse backgrounds with an array of talents. These women bring their skills and creativity to the table each day to grow and evolve our brand.

In honor of #InternationalWomensDay, we asked why they like working at a female-driven workplace?

I'm a mother, a daughter, a wife, a sister, an aunt, and a CEO. I have surrounded myself with powerful women, and remind them every day to: ask for more, never settle and enjoy being a woman. Happy International Women's Day!

-Kerry O’Brien, Founder, CEO & Head Designer

It is empowering to make clothing for women, by women. At commando, we consider comfort and convenience as well as luxury and fashion in women's apparel.

-Sara, Pattern Making Development Specialist

I like that I can wear the products that we make, and I really love them. I wear commando every day!

-Saifon, Fulfillment Specialist

Commando is an empowering workplace, it has made me more comfortable with who I am.

-Alli, Fulfillment Specialist

The glass ceiling doesn't exist at commando. We get to watch the women we work with grow and succeed as the brand grows and succeeds.

-Sarah, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer

Women know what women want. We provide our input, listen to each other, and get it done!

-Mia, Boutique Account Manager

We are a mix of different backgrounds and perspectives. The women here are recognized and valued for the strengths they bring to the table each day as individuals, and that makes for a pretty special group.

-Julie, Merchandise Analyst

I haven't worked for many companies that care about women the way commando does. I feel like your co-workers are understanding and really have a sense of what you’re going through.

-Gabi, Fulfillment Associate

The female-dominated demographic at commando fosters a great sense of collaboration and camaraderie. For me, the strong, smart, ambitious women who make up commando are the number one reason why this is a great place to work.

-Amy, Office Manager
