Accountant

Commando is looking for an experienced accounting professional to join our Finance team!  The ideal candidate will be thorough and attentive with the ability to work independently and with a team. The Accountant will participate in end of month closings as well as support the Finance team with various duties.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Assist in all aspects of the general ledger and reconcile accounts for monthly and annual closing
• Ensure quality and accuracy of monthly inventory reporting including cost variance analysis
• Compliance reporting for sales tax and other taxes
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements
• Review ledger level transactions for opportunities to cut costs and optimize operations for better financial results
• Support and provide back-up for other accounting staff as needed
• Provide assistance in problem resolution
• Research, reporting, and support to Controller as needed
• Assist with key financial activities and processes

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years equivalent experience (apparel manufacturing a plus)
• Proficient in accounting principles, understand finance concepts and cash management
• Proficiency with computers, especially excel, experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL is a plus
• Strong analytical, technology, communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work with confidential material and act with discretion
• Maturity and ability to work independently and as a team player
